Is it OK to use tampons if I have yeast infection? This question often arises with my customers. Although the opinions of medical specialists on this question may differ, there is a lot of information to suggest that there is a negative association between using tampons and this particular problem. Many popular medical articles even put the blame on tampons as being the cause of yeast infections.
The real cause of all subtypes of yeast infections is candidiasis or Candida infection that is caused by the Candida microbe, which multiplies out of bounds. When your body is weakened for example by diabetes, pregnancy, the use of antibiotics or other conditions that depress the immune system, this microbe then has the possibility to overgrow. It invades the blood, and makes its way to different parts of the body to generate the symptoms of candidiasis. Yet, the Candida organisms that live naturally in the body and that are kept in check by other beneficial bacteria form part of the system to digest food and defend our bodies against other parasites. In any case tampons do not cause yeast infection as might have been indicated elsewhere.
The real causes of Candida are complex and involve many factors. Toiletries on their own are not the sole factor. However tampons that are scented, or the use of scented soaps, hygiene sprays and the like can all stimulate yeast infection of the vagina. The reasons include the following:
1. Scented tampons are recognized to be allergenic. A weak immune system will not be able to prevent Candida overgrowth in this case.
2. Healthy human bodies have a correct ratio of acid to alkaline. This is the balance between positively charged ions that form acids and negatively charged ions that form alkalis. But when this balance is disturbed. , numerous health difficulties can follow. An example is the way that candida then over grows in such an extra acidic environment. Toiletries that are scented will affect the PH of the vagina, to make it more acidic and to increase the chances for women to be afflicted by candidiasis.
This then means that you have very good reasons to prefer unscented soaps, tampons, pants, panty liners, toilet paper or sanitary pads. Your choice should always be for organic products and hypoallergenic products wherever available.
Remember that it is not enough to prevent or cure yeast infection to just avoid the other kinds of tampons or toiletries. It is necessary to find natural alternatives to these toiletries which might cause allergies but this is only a minor element of the full holistic treatment.
Did anyone tell you that your candida infection that causes you pain and problems could be permanently treated using a comprehensive holistic program? With the neutralization of the components that cause internal and external yeast infection, you will be able to permanently eliminate Candida and regain your health and well being.
